Pyramids turn realty fortune-tellers
India's organised retail industry may be worth Rs 50,000 crore and coasting along at an annual dip of 30% with an admixture of homegrown and foreign brands, but tradition still seems to lord over its sentiments. A case in point is the large swathe of retailers and realtors pinning faith on vaastu pyramids to get rid of doshas (negative energies) from projects and enhance footfalls in stores across malls and high streets. Small wonder then that pyramid-vaastu consultants are laughing their way to the bank as the tribe of promoters looking to this traditional concept are growing by the day. Vaastu expert Pandit RK Sharma, for instance, today boasts of a list of 22 clients, comprising chiefly retailers and realtors.
Vaastu for your bedroom
Rest and relaxation are the two words that are foremost in one’s mind when returning home from work. Talking of rest and relaxation, the bedroom comes to our mind quite naturally. According to the ancient science of Vaastu Shashtra the level of peace and tranquility that prevails in the bedroom can be enhanced by observing some simple principles. First in the list is the location. Ideally, the bedroom should be located in the southern part of the house. The ideal location for the master bedroom is the south west and Vaastu practitioners suggest that all other bedrooms should be located either towards the east or north of the master bedroom. If your bedroom happens to have an attached bathroom then the best location for it is the south or the west. Another thing to remember is that it should be kept spotlessly clean and odour free.
Vaasthu and the modern builder
The modern day vaasthu practitioners have adapted the basic principals of Vaasthu to suit the modern day context. The ancient wisdom of ‘vaasthu shastra’ is creating waves all over the world and most certainly in the land of its origin. Perhaps it is the renewed pride that we feel as Indians in our culture and traditions, is one of the reasons for the rediscovery of this ancient practice.
Science of Vaasthu
The word Vaasthu is well known world wide and along with the growing interest it has also drawn skeptics and those who pass it off as a mere ‘mumbo jumbo’. To day we have many who are adapting Vaasthu in their building constructions and scores of consultants offering solutions and designs as per vaasthu.
